A SCORE FOR AN UNFINISHED LIFE
THE SOUND
OF BECOMING.
Not a playlist. Not a personality test. Six rooms. Twenty-four rhythms you can actually rewrite. A place to hear how a self changes without becoming a fixed identity.
Silent by default. Nothing plays until you choose.
The Threshold
01 / Choose a room
02 / Compose the pulse
Each room offers four authored motifs. Layer any combination.
Write the rhythm
Choose a voice, then tap any of its sixteen steps. Changes are saved in your score.
03 / Sculpt the atmosphere
A MEMORY IS NOT A SAMPLE
Give the score a meaning of your own.
Choose one of six doors into memory. Write privately, revise freely, or leave the page blank. Your words stay on this device unless you explicitly export them.
These reflections are personal creative writing, not a mental-health assessment. No data is transmitted by this website.
THE LISTENING ROOM
Ten fragments of a life that refuses to resolve into one genre.
These are original fictionalised meditations on public themes, not transcriptions of private events.
Keep the version you made.
Save locally or export a JSON score containing your patterns and, if you choose, your private notes. Import restores your composition; no audio recordings or commercial music are included.
THREE STARTING POINTS
No single genre can contain a life.
Under the circuitry
How the sound engine works
Web Audio creates an AudioContext only after a user gesture. A scheduler checks ahead every 25 ms and schedules oscillator tones and filtered noise against AudioContext.currentTime, 100 ms into the future. Sixteen editable steps form one four-beat bar. A limiter/compressor and master gain control the output. No samples, voice models or external audio files are loaded. Playback may pause when the tab is suspended; background timing is not guaranteed.
Music, identity and evidence
Music can provide material for autobiographical remembering and identity narratives, but a soundtrack cannot diagnose a person or establish causation. These rooms are metaphors, not validated psychological interventions. The rhythms are original, while the conceptual questions are inspired by the creator's public explorations of hip-hop, emotional literacy and becoming.
Access and performance
Editor steps, scene choices and other controls are implemented as native buttons with accessible labels. Visual-only mode works without audio permissions. The canvas is decorative and the scene's name, description, motif names and transport state are available in text. Reduced motion is supported. Best experienced in a modern browser with Web Audio; audio timing varies across devices, especially under CPU load or background throttling.
